“Threads” is Eirik Glambek Bøe’s song for the anime Carole & Tuesday, featured in episode 12: We’ve Only Just Begun when the two girls have been distanced from each other. It was the only track with vocals in the series that was used as a background song instead of having a character performing it on screen.
In episode 18: Only Love Can Break Your Heart, the song makes an appearance again, but this time it’s sung by Carole & Tuesday. Tuesday was feeling down after she saw that her crush was taken. Meanwhile, Carole can’t help but feel upset because Tuesday doesn’t realize she’ll always be there for her, no matter what. At the end of the day, they find each other on the bridge where they met, Carole offering her comfort to Tuesday.
